Before you cast your vote for governor of NY ask yourself a few simple questions. The answers will help you decide for whom to vote.
- Hochul has been governor for nearly six years. Can you think of one thing she has done to improve your life? Just one. Can’t think of one? I thought not.
- Are you better off today than you were six years ago? (A resounding “no,” unless you are an illegal, a criminal or a freeloader.)
- Are you optimistic or pessimistic regarding the future for you and for NYS?
As I write this the latest polls all report Hochul with a healthy lead over Blakeman. For example, CBS has it 54% – 28%. Unless the polls are drastically wrong Hochul will be re-elected by a decisive margin. This is inexplicable to me, but it illustrates my long-held opinion with respect to voters in deep blue states such as NY. Many voters are akin to automons. Regardless of the issues or the quality of the candidates, they will automatically vote Dem simply because they always have.
They would even vote for a “ham sandwich.”
CONCLUSION
I predict Hochul will win, and she will move even further left (including advocating a massive tax hike on the “rich.”). The people will complain. Businesses and people will continue to exit; NYS will continue its inexorable slide to bankruptcy; and in future election cycles voters will continue to elect Dems.
It’s true that voters get the government they deserve.
